Iodine is a trace mineral. In children, it plays a role in the development of the bones and the brain. It helps the metabolism of the body. Iodine plays a major role in the maintenance of the glandular tissue (breasts, uterus, ovaries, prostate). The trace mineral also supports the adrenal glands.
